7 Samsung Galaxy S25 Settings to Modify Right After Buying (and 1 to Keep As It Is)

Kudos on obtaining your Samsung Galaxy S25! This lineup is leading the charts of the best Android phones of 2025, including the freshly launched Galaxy S25 Edge, which is quite remarkable. You’re probably looking for some setup tips and tricks for your new device.

Setting up your phone is a unique journey. You’ll want to configure your apps and games, along with your favorite wallpaper and Bluetooth devices. Phones typically overwhelm you with features, many of which may not be essential for everyday usage.

Here are the important steps I followed while setting up my Galaxy S25 Ultra. These actions won’t drastically alter battery life or performance but will help you clear storage, tidy up your screens, and maintain organization.

Modify or turn off Now Brief

Now Brief is an AI feature that gathers your media, sports updates, Google Maps directions, Samsung Health, and more into daily summaries. It can be either quite beneficial or merely obtrusive. By default, all possible information is activated, so you might want to modify or turn it off. Here’s how to access Now Brief on your Galaxy S25:

  • Access the Settings menu

  • Navigate to Lock screen and AOD

  • Tap Now bar

  • To turn off Now Brief, flip the Now Brief setting off

This configuration also manages live notifications, which I kept enabled for alerts about Cleveland Guardians games. Adjust these notifications while you’re here.

Remove your bloatware

You can’t remove anything that could damage your phone, and you can always re-download apps from the Google Play Store or Samsung’s Galaxy Store. To view all your applications, carry out these steps:

  • Access the Settings menu

  • Scroll to the Apps section and tap it

You’ll find a list of all installed applications. Tap on any unwanted app, then hit the Uninstall button and confirm. Some apps may feature a Disable button instead. Alternatively, you can long-press an app in the app drawer and select Uninstall or Disable.

Make custom wallpapers with AI

Galaxy AI enables you to create personalized wallpapers. Here’s how:

  • Long press on a blank area of the home screen and choose Wallpaper and style

  • Select Change wallpapers, then Create with AI

  • Choose the Generative option

Select a template and modify keywords to produce images. It may not be as sophisticated as advanced AI image generators, but you can create impressive wallpapers at no cost.

Personalize your app drawer
