WWDC 2025: Fresh Apple Intelligence AI Capabilities for Your Devices


Apple’s WWDC this year showcased design modifications with iOS 26 and Liquid Glass, in addition to updates and fresh announcements for Apple Intelligence, the firm’s suite of AI functionalities.

The new announcements for Apple Intelligence enhance existing AI-driven features such as Writing Tools, Message and Mail summaries, the ChatGPT integration, and more. Apple has broadened its Apple Intelligence offerings to cover all software updates revealed for iOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, iPadOS 26, and WatchOS 26. The company has altered its naming format to indicate the release year, simplifying the process.

Foundation Models Framework

Apple unveiled a method for third-party applications to access Apple Intelligence, known as the Foundation Models Framework, enabling developers to utilize Apple’s API for incorporating their features into Apple Intelligence.

Across all devices

Live translation

Apple Intelligence now includes live translation for immediate text and voice translations. This feature is functional on Messages, FaceTime, and Phone for iOS 26, WatchOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26.

Expanded features for Genmoji and Image Playground

With Genmoji, users can blend emojis and utilize Image Playground to modify emojis, such as altering facial expressions or hairstyles. Image Playground has also incorporated a ChatGPT integration, allowing for image creation using OpenAI’s model.

New AI features for iOS 26

Voicemail features

Apple Intelligence now incorporates call screening for scammers and Hold Assist, which alerts you when you’re off hold, in addition to voicemail transcripts.

Polls for your group chat in Messages

In group chats, it’s possible to create polls, and Apple Intelligence will aggregate the results.

Visual Intelligence for screenshots

iOS 26 debuts a visual search capability by merging Visual Intelligence with Apple Intelligence. By capturing a screenshot, users can employ a new search function on the screen, which can also identify events and auto-fill your calendar.

Automated order tracking in Apple Wallet

Apple Intelligence can recognize and summarize packages you’ve ordered and monitor them within Apple Wallet.

macOS Tahoe 26 and iPadOS 26

Similar to iOS 26, Apple’s operating systems for Macs and iPads feature Apple Intelligence, functioning more quietly in the background for a fluid workflow.

An AI update to Shortcuts

Shortcuts receive a boost from Apple Intelligence, facilitating the automation of multi-step tasks like saving files or initiating actions at designated times. Shortcuts can also leverage ChatGPT for off-device operations.

Spotlight gets a lot more useful

Spotlight enhanced with Apple Intelligence can streamline workflows such as sending emails or offering intelligent recommendations based on the document or application you are using.

WatchOS 26

Workout Buddy

With Apple Intelligence, your Apple Watch now features an AI-enhanced trainer. Your “Buddy” is an AI-generated voice that utilizes workout and health data to provide advice, encourage you, and congratulate you on finishing workouts.
