What is Connections?
The NYT‘s newest daily word challenge has surged in popularity on social media. The Times acknowledges associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu for her role in developing this new word game and introducing it within the Games section. Connections is accessible on both web browsers and mobile devices, where players must categorize four words that have a commonality.
Each game consists of 16 words, with groups of words divided into four categories. These collections can include anything from book names, software, country titles, etc. Although several words may appear to fit together, there is only one right solution.
<pWhen a player correctly identifies all four words in a group, those words are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake—players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game concludes.
Players may also rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate the identification of connections. Furthermore, each category is color-coded, with yellow being the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Much like Wordle, you have the option to share your results via social media.
