You may be acquainted with Mikey Angelo, a content creator boasting over 7 million followers across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. He is celebrated for his catchy tunes that skillfully weave in his vast knowledge of pop culture and contemporary happenings.
If you’ve viewed his content, you have probably spotted the bucket hat he dons in nearly every video, with hundreds now part of his collection.
During VidCon 2025’s Meta Night Out, we had a conversation with Angelo to learn more about the tools he employs to craft his engaging material.
Mini Tripod
Angelo utilizes a straightforward tripod he bought from Amazon, which is essential to his process, particularly when he’s pressed for time. “If I’m like ‘Oh, no, I have a draft due today that I haven’t filmed, and I’m not at my usual place, my [mini tripod] always comes in handy,” he noted.
iPhone
Every one of Angelo’s videos is filmed using his iPhone, eschewing any complex camera arrangements. He utilizes the front camera, asserting, “I always use the selfie side.”
Logic Pro
This is where the creativity unfolds. “I do all of my production in Logic,” he clarified. “That’s where I create all the beats and all the music, and I also produce my vocals on it.”
He then lip-syncs to the track while recording the visual. For editing, he leverages the InShot app to bring everything together.
