A fresh horror subgenre has recently come to light: the anxiety of being stuck in a double-booked vacation rental. 2022’s *Barbarian* generates fear with its tale of strangers cohabiting an Airbnb, while 2022’s *Gone in the Night* centers on two couples mistakenly reserving the same secluded cabin. This theme persists with 2025’s *Bone Lake*, helmed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan, who also directed 2022’s Shudder original *Spoonful of Sugar*.

In this erotic thriller, the duo Sage (Maddie Hasson) and Diego (Marco Pigossi) set out for a serene vacation at a lakeside mansion rental. Yet, their intimate retreat is thrown into disarray when another couple, Cin (Andra Nechita) and Will (Alex Roe), shows up, having secured the mansion for the same weekend. What will these pairs do?

Per the teaser, they opt to share the rental and get acquainted, even raising a glass to a budding friendship. Naturally, that’s before the blood begins to flow.

The teaser teases chaotic gore featuring crossbows, kitchen knives, and chainsaws. It also suggests significant sexual tension between the couples, culminating in some, ahem, activity by Bone Lake.

The film garnered largely positive feedback at its world premiere at 2024’s Fantastic Fest, so if you’re an enthusiast of erotic thrillers or want to catch more double-booking horror flicks, *Bone Lake* looks like a tempting choice.
