What is Connections Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word challenge, introduced together with The Athletic, the New York Times’ sports reporting platform, is accessible on both web browsers and mobile devices. Participants must categorize four words that have something in common.

Each puzzle comprises 16 words arranged into four groups. These groups can encompass anything from book titles to software or country names. Even though several words might appear related, there is only one correct grouping.

When a player successfully identifies all four words in a category, those words are eliminated from the board. Incorrect selections are counted as errors, with players permitted up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate finding connections. Each group is color-coded: yellow denotes the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results can be shared on social media.
