Stephen King Reveals Thrilling Book News for Readers

Stephen King has returned to social media, this time focusing on his upcoming book. It appears to be a significant release for his fans. On Thursday, the famed horror writer took to Threads, his preferred platform, to inform his followers about his latest endeavor.

“The Talisman 3 is nearly complete,” King declared.

To recap, The Talisman is a series co-created by King and the late Peter Straub. The inaugural book launched in 1984, succeeded by its sequel Black House in 2001. Earlier this year, King revealed that Straub had envisioned a third installment before his passing in 2022.

“Peter Straub had an excellent concept before he passed,” King posted on Threads. “Joint credit, as with THE TALISMAN and BLACK HOUSE. However, as always, I can never be certain a book will be finished until it is completed. This one still has quite a journey ahead.”

Fortunately, King is known for his prolific writing, and it seems he is close to the finish line six months later.

The Talisman series contains numerous parallels with The Dark Tower series, utilizing settings and characters from Black House, and the third book appears to continue in this vein.

“Speaking cautiously—no spoilers—I believe you will find yourself back in Mid-World when you read T3,” King teased, alluding to the setting from The Dark Tower series.

King also disclosed that the protagonist Jack Sawyer is 57 years old in the new installment, having begun his journey as a 12-year-old in The Talisman. “It’s been quite a fascinating life,” he remarked.

It remains uncertain if this is the same project King alluded to last year regarding a new novel within The Dark Tower universe or if it’s something entirely different. Regardless, it’s thrilling news.
