Microsoft Outlook is Unavailable: Here’s What We Have Learned Thus Far

On Thursday, Microsoft Outlook faced a crash, leading to significant disruptions for many as the workday began in the United States.

Problems were reported to Down Detector during the early hours of the East Coast. (Note: Ziff Davis owns both Down Detector and Mashable.)

Microsoft has not yet made a public statement on social media concerning the outage. Nonetheless, the company’s service status page acknowledged Outlook’s downtime. “Users might not be able to access their mailbox via any connection method,” it mentioned, noting that efforts to address the issue were in progress.

Mashable reached out to Microsoft for a comment but has not received a reply yet. Updates will be shared if Microsoft provides a response.

Online users shared their frustration over the outage, especially as the workday commenced. Outlook’s handling of emails and calendars renders such interruptions very inconvenient.
