We’ve seen some remarkable laptops make their entrance in 2025, equipped with AI-enhanced processors that improve battery longevity without sacrificing performance and cutting-edge display technology that is becoming increasingly affordable. In the gaming laptop arena, new 50-series GPUs are showcasing impressive capabilities alongside discounted 40-series GPUs that continue to be strong competitors.
Multiple gaming laptops from 2025 have already launched this year, but we aim to highlight three models that have made an impression. These three robust machines are currently the top gaming laptops featuring Nvidia GPUs available on the market.
As we head into the holiday season during October and November, we look forward to the release of additional 2025 models of popular gaming laptops. Upon their arrival, we will compare them to the three gaming laptops we have identified as the best in mid-2025.
Best overall: Razer Blade 16
Our affiliated publication, PCMag, has commended the new 2025 Razer Blade 16, which we view as the premier gaming laptop of the year. PCMag’s Matthew Buzzi remarked, “With the 2025 Blade 16, Razer once more presents impressive performance and stunning design in a sleek, high-priced package.”
Starting at $2,399, the new Blade 16 boasts an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 CPU, 16GB of RAM, an Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU, and 1TB of SSD storage. By doubling the RAM and storage, and upgrading to a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU and an RTX 5090 GPU, the price jumps to $4,499.
While it is not an economical choice, it remains one of the finest gaming laptops featuring an Nvidia GPU available. PCMag declared the RTX 5090 as the swiftest mobile GPU, and the RTX 5090-equipped Blade 16 performed excellently in tests, from everyday productivity tasks to demanding gaming benchmarks.
Despite its powerful performance, Razer’s new Blade 16 excels in battery longevity. Many gaming laptops suffer from limited battery life due to their power requirements, but the $4,499 version used in PCMag’s video rundown test lasted an impressive 10 hours and 12 minutes, almost three hours longer than its predecessor.
Considering its internal components and the stunning 16-inch, 2560 x 1600-pixel OLED display, this battery duration is remarkable. With over 10 hours of battery life and a “sleek, premium metal construction” that is luxurious yet subtle, the Razer Blade 16 is an adaptable laptop for both work and high-end gaming.
Best price-to-performance ratio: Acer Predator Helios 16
For users looking for the best value in a gaming laptop, the Acer Predator Helios 16 stands out as the top selection. In my review of the Predator Helios 16, I highlighted that it was “equipped with internals that’ll keep you sailing smoothly through intense gaming sessions and daily tasks” at a competitive price.
Our review unit had an Intel Core i9 14900HX, an RTX 4080 GPU, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of SSD storage for $2,299 at the time of review. Although this specific unit is no longer available, you can discover even better deals with a 50-series Nvidia GPU.
The Predator Helios Neo 16S AI, priced at $1,549 at full price, features 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, an upgraded Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, and a more powerful Nvidia RTX 5060 graphics card. Its 16-inch, 2560 x 1600-pixel, 240Hz display now includes an OLED upgrade for enhanced contrast and vivid colors.
This updated model also softens the “strong gamer aesthetic” noted in our review, making it a more understated option for work or class. With an AI-powered processor, we look forward to improved battery life compared to our review unit.
Best timeless design: HP Omen 17
Although our HP Omen 17 review unit was introduced in 2024, the latest 2025 model keeps its sleek, minimalist design that blurs the distinction between a gaming laptop and a standard one. The 2025 HP Omen 17 retains the same elegant, matte black chassis with a simple Omen logo while enhancing its internals for contemporary AAA games.
Similar to our review unit, this 2025 Omen 17 configuration features 1TB of SSD storage and 32GB of RAM, perfect for multitasking and research enthusiasts. It also includes the same sharp 17.3-inch, 2560 x 1440-pixel display with a smooth 240Hz refresh rate that we adored in the 2024 model.
The HP Omen 17 excelled in performance, managing both productivity tasks and high-setting gaming in Helldivers 2 — and that configuration only had an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor and an RTX 4070 graphics card.
This updated 2025 model comes with a more powerful AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU and one of Nvidia’s
