Jimmy Fallon Responds to The Late Show Termination


Monday night’s late monologues tackled the abrupt cancellation of The Late Show. Jon Stewart took aim at his parent company, Stephen Colbert unveiled his straightforward reaction, and Donald Trump reveled in the cancellation on social media.

Jimmy Fallon also chimed in.

“Welcome to The Tonight Show! I am your host…well, at least for this evening,” he remarked. “I really don’t like it. I really don’t like what’s unfolding at all. These are tumultuous times. Earlier today my dad rang me and declared he’s officially a Kimmel supporter.”

Fallon, who also shared on Instagram after the Late Show’s announcement, commended Colbert for his years of clever and comedic television, while making digs at the network responsible for the cancellation.

“Everyone is discussing CBS’ choice to conclude The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and numerous individuals are now threatening to boycott the network,” he stated. “Yes, CBS could forfeit millions of viewers, alongside tens of hundreds tuning in on Paramount Plus.”
