Fueled predominantly by word-of-mouth and a devoted fanbase, Final Destination: Bloodlines has emerged as the surprise hit of the summer. The sixth chapter in Jeffrey Reddick’s enduring horror series has adeptly introduced fresh and creatively gruesome methods for characters to meet their fate. Both audiences and critics are expressing admiration.
It marks one of the final film appearances of the late horror icon Tony Todd, reprising his recurrent role as William Bludworth from the Final Destination series. Also featuring are Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, and Rya Kihlstedt.
If you didn’t catch it in theaters, several options are now available to experience the thrills at home. Here’s all you need to know to view Final Destination: Bloodlines.
What is Final Destination: Bloodlines about?
Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the latest installment of Final Destination revolves around Stefani Lewis (Santa Juana), a college student tormented by visions of her family’s horrific deaths through bizarre accidents. She returns home hoping to find a way to break the cycle and protect her family from their inevitable brutal endings. It turns out she isn’t the only one in her family who possesses the gift, as her grandmother Iris (Gabrielle Rose) narrowly escaped death in the ’60s — and holds the key Stefani requires to confront her ordeal.

Is the new Final Destination worth watching?
The newest entry in the Final Destination series was produced with a budget of $50 million and has grossed around $285 million (to date) globally. This achievement not only makes Bloodlines the highest earner in the Final Destination franchise but also the second highest-grossing horror film of the year (following Sinners), and the 11th highest-grossing film across all genres in 2025. It’s a significant challenge to thrive as the sixth film in a series, but it has truly surpassed expectations and emerged as an unforeseen summer success.
Final Destination: Bloodlines is also distinguished as the best-reviewed film in the franchise, earning an impressive 93 percent critic score and an 87 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Mashable’s reviewer captures it perfectly: “If seeing all the ways the human body can be demolished is your delight, then I have the perfect darkly humorous film for you. You’ll cringe, laugh, and shout. You’ll wipe the imaginary gore off your face. And you’ll spend the whole ride home convinced that everything’s out to get you. It’s a horror movie’s paradise.”
