The series “Alien: Earth” showcases a distinguished cast, featuring Timothy Olyphant as the android Kirsh and Sydney Chandler as the human-AI hybrid Wendy. Furthermore, series creator Noah Hawley makes an unexpected cameo. Renowned for his work on “Fargo” and “Legion,” Hawley makes his acting debut in the inaugural episode, “Neverland,” where he plays Wendy and Joe’s (Alex Lawther) father in flashback scenes.
Hawley’s 12-year-old son, Lev Hawley, is also part of “Alien: Earth,” portraying young Joe in the flashbacks. This serves as Lev’s acting debut, and his participation prompted Noah Hawley to take on an on-screen role. In May, Hawley revealed to Deadline that his son showed interest in acting, which led him to choose to perform alongside Lev to help him acclimate to the experience.
Hawley commented on the symbolic importance of playing the parent of the lead actor. Nevertheless, he suggested that his appearance might only happen this once, cautioning viewers not to anticipate more of him throughout the series.
“Alien: Earth” can be streamed on Hulu, with new episodes released on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Hulu and FX.
