Samsung has unveiled its inaugural gaming monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate. Unveiled at CES earlier this year, the Odyssey OLED G6 gaming monitor is now available for purchase as of August 13. It measures 27 inches and is priced at $999.99. This monitor delivers a remarkable performance enhancement with its 500Hz refresh rate.
The Odyssey OLED G6 is the first OLED gaming monitor to equal the refresh rate capabilities of IPS monitors, which were previously favored by gamers. It boasts a QHD resolution (2,560 x 1440), a 16:9 aspect ratio, a response time of 0.03ms, a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, and is compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync. The QD-OLED panel is Pantone Validated and incorporates Samsung’s Glare Free technology.
The Samsung 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 gaming monitor is available for $999.99 at Samsung, Best Buy, and Amazon.
In addition, Samsung has released the 37-inch and 40-inch Odyssey G7 monitors. The 37-inch variant features a 4K curved 16:9 VA panel with 350 nits brightness and a 165Hz refresh rate. The 40-inch version includes a 21:9 aspect ratio, 350 nits brightness, a 180Hz refresh rate, and split-screen functionality.
