What is Connections Sports Edition?
The NYT‘s newest daily word game has debuted in partnership with The Athletic, the sports journalism arm of the New York Times. Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices, and it requires players to organize four words that possess a common link.

Each puzzle features 16 words split into four categories. These groups can include anything from book titles to software names or country designations. While multiple words might appear connected, only one solution is correct.
When a player successfully identifies all four words in a category, those words are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake—players are allowed up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board for easier connection spotting. Each group is color-coded, starting with yellow for the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results on social media.
