### What is Connections Sports Edition?

The *NYT*’s newest daily word game has debuted in collaboration with *The Athletic*, the New York Times entity for sports reporting. [Connections](https://mashable.com/article/nyt-connections-hint-answer-today-february-24-2025) is playable on web browsers and mobile devices, challenging players to group four words that have something in common.

Each puzzle contains 16 words, split into four categories. These categories could encompass anything from book titles, software, names of countries, and more. While several words may appear to belong together, there is only one accurate solution.

If a player successfully groups all four words in a set, those words are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake—players have a limit of four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players may also rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate connection spotting. Each group is color-coded: yellow being the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. As in *Wordle*, you can share the outcome with friends on social media.
