Aubrey Plaza Talks About Loss on Amy Poehler’s Podcast

Aubrey Plaza opened up about her sorrow following the passing of her husband Jeff Baena, who died in January, during a podcast with her former Parks and Recreation co-star Amy Poehler. On A Good Hang with Amy Poehler, Plaza was inquired about her well-being.

“In this very moment, I feel joyful to be with you,” Plaza responded. “In general, I’m present, functioning, and thankful to be navigating through life. I’m alright, but it’s an everyday challenge.”

She likened her sorrow to the horror film The Gorge, which features a chasm filled with monsters.

“That represents my grief,” she stated. “There’s a vast ocean of dread always present. At times I wish to plunge into it, other times I merely observe it, and occasionally I try to escape, but it’s perpetually there.”
