In its inaugural season, *Fallout* distinguished itself as a premier video game adaptation. It delivered an exhilarating post-apocalyptic adventure that captured the spirit of the games, garnering critical acclaim and 16 Emmy nominations, with a win for Outstanding Music Supervision.
Now, the highly anticipated second season of *Fallout* is nearly here, transporting audiences to a pivotal locale in the franchise: New Vegas, the backdrop of the cherished game *Fallout: New Vegas*.
Given the acclaim of *Fallout: New Vegas*, it was only natural that *Fallout* would showcase its post-apocalyptic rendition of Las Vegas on screen. The series confirmed Season 2’s New Vegas setting in its Season 1 finale, when Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan) made his way there following his encounter with his daughter, Lucy (Ella Purnell).
Season 2 centers on Lucy and the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) as they chase after Hank, while Maximus (Aaron Moten) and the Brotherhood of Steel gear up for confrontation. The initial teaser for Season 2 also hints at more pre-war flashbacks detailing the Ghoul’s history as actor Cooper Howard. In the teaser, he ventures to Las Vegas, crossing paths with Robert House (Justin Theroux), recognized by gamers as the leader of New Vegas.
Mr. House is not the only notable aspect from *Fallout: New Vegas* shown in the Season 2 teaser. Members of Caesar’s Legion also make an appearance, poised for combat. Furthermore, the trailer confirms that Season 2 will feature a significant foe from the *Fallout* games: a Deathclaw. I’m both frightened and thrilled to step back into the wasteland.
*Fallout* Season 2 debuts on Dec. 17 on Prime Video.
