Gears of War: Reloaded Launches on PS5: Pricing Information and Release Timing

Two decades past, the notion of “Gears of War” appearing on PlayStation appeared ludicrous. Yet, here we are. A remastered edition of the original 2006 “Gears” game, famed for its legendary chainsaw gun, is set to debut on PS5 on Tuesday, August 26. Dubbed “Gears of War: Reloaded,” it will also be accessible on Xbox and PC. This launch includes upgraded graphics, improved resolutions, and frame rates, as well as complete cross-play and cross-progression for both multiplayer and single-player co-op across platforms.

The game will be available worldwide simultaneously, going live at 8 a.m. PT (11 a.m. ET) on Tuesday.

“Gears of War” served as a significant exclusive for Xbox 360, providing a top-tier multiplayer shooter prior to the release of “Halo 3.” Created by Epic Games, it was a trailblazer in cover-based shooters, enabling players to devise strategies while avoiding damage. Numerous developers followed this trend, resulting in a surge of similar titles in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Nevertheless, “Gears” distinguished itself with its outstanding cooperative campaign modes. Now, it is on PlayStation.

The remastered “Gears of War: Reloaded” for PS5 is available for $39.
