The new iPhones are nearly upon us, so let’s share our desires while we have the chance. Apple is gearing up to unveil the iPhone 17 series in just a few weeks, but nothing about these devices is set in stone yet. Numerous rumors and leaks are circulating, but they remain largely conjectural. Here are three key features we hope Apple incorporates into the iPhone 17 series.
120Hz displays throughout the series
Apple has been trailing behind in refresh rates for years. While higher-end models like the iPhone 16 Pro have boasted 120Hz displays for quite a while, finding an iPhone with such a fluid display below $1,000 is currently impossible unless significant discounts apply. This is disappointing since even the lower-cost variants of Google’s Pixel phones come with a 120Hz display for just $500. Thankfully, rumors indicate that the complete iPhone 17 series will sport 120Hz displays for the first time. Apple may be arriving late, but we’re happy to see it finally come to fruition.
Vibrant colors for the Pro variants
Apple has consistently provided bright color choices for its base model iPhones while keeping the Pro variants subdued. For instance, the iPhone 16 is available in a stunning pink, whereas the 16 Pro comes in white, black, and a few beige options. Luckily, leaks point to a potential shift. Leaker Sonny Dixon recently released images of dummy models for the iPhone 17 Pro, showcasing dark blue and orange shades alongside the standard white and black. This is a step forward, but Apple can still enhance this aspect further. A pink iPhone Pro would certainly be a delightful addition.
Reverse wireless charging
Running low on power for your AirPods case when you’re out isn’t ideal, but it’s manageable. Reverse wireless charging could remedy this situation. If implemented in any iPhone 17 model, it would permit users to recharge other Apple devices by placing them on the back of an inverted iPhone, effectively turning it into a portable wireless charger. This would allow you to provide a quick charge to your AirPods case to have enough power for your journey. A leaker on Weibo, Fixed Focus Digital, recently indicated that iPhone 17 Pro models may incorporate this functionality. Although not guaranteed, it appears to be a practical advancement for Apple.
