Apple Unveils Four Fresh Watch Faces with watchOS 26

Apple has experienced a hectic week with the launch of the new iPhone 17 and the updated Apple Watch 11. In conjunction with these releases, Apple is officially unveiling watchOS 26, which brings a number of updates, including four fresh watch faces.

As per Apple’s release notes, the four new watch faces draw inspiration from classic timepieces and feature Apple’s innovative Liquid Glass design language:

Exactograph represents a contemporary twist on a classic watch, distinctly separating hours, minutes, and seconds for accurate timekeeping.

Flow showcases Liquid Glass numerals that bend light around a colorful orb, reacting to wrist movements.

Waypoint acts as a real-time compass, indicating your location in relation to saved places on Apple Maps or points of interest (exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra).

Hermès Faubourg Party features animated clips that trigger based on the time of day or movement, showcasing a variety of characters (exclusive to Apple Watch Hermès).

The Waypoint face is only available on the Apple Watch Ultra, while the Hermès Faubourg Party is restricted to the Apple Watch Hermès. Additionally, the Photos watch face has received a Liquid Glass refresh.

All Apple Watch users updating to watchOS 26 will gain access to the Flow and Exactograph faces. This applies to all Apple Watches starting from Series 6 and up, all three generations of Apple Watch Ultra, as well as the Apple Watch SE 2.

The rollout for the update will commence on Monday, September 15, with beta users having prior access. WatchOS 26 was first introduced at WWDC, hence most features were disclosed earlier. Apple Watch users can look forward to a new Liquid Glass design, the AI-enhanced Workout Buddy, Live Translation, enhancements to the Photos watch face, and the introduction of a Notes app.
