Google is phasing out its Weather app for Pixel smartwatches and launching a new Pixel Weather app.

Devices operating on Wear OS 6 and upcoming OS versions will no longer have access to download Google’s integrated Weather app. Smartwatches with OS 5 or earlier will still be able to download it.

If your watch is on OS 6, you can keep using the app for the time being, but there are a few issues. Users of Pixel watches running OS 6 and newer will eventually move to the new Pixel Weather app.

Google indicated in a blog entry: “If you possess a Pixel Watch on Wear OS 6 or newer: Your watch will automatically come equipped with (or be upgraded to) the new Pixel Weather app. No action is required on your part.”

Other Android smartwatch brands — Samsung, OnePlus, Mobvoi — utilizing OS 6 or newer can continue using the Weather app if it has already been installed.

Nonetheless, you’ll still have the ability to view the forecast on your wrist, although its appearance may change in the future.
