Conan O’Brien and Michael Eisner Condemn Disney and ABC Regarding Kimmel Suspension

Conan O’Brien and ex-Disney CEO Michael Eisner have added their voices to the backlash against the cessation of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” by ABC and Disney. The program was taken off air following Kimmel’s Monday monologue that mentioned the killing of far-right influencer Charlie Kirk. Kimmel lambasted the MAGA movement for attempting to distance themselves from the situation. While FCC chair Brendan Carr warned of potential repercussions, it was Disney CEO Bob Iger who axed the show, igniting fury among advocates of free speech and leading to calls for a boycott of Disney from individuals like “She-Hulk” actress Tatiana Maslany. Late-night hosts, such as John Stewart and Seth Meyers, came to Kimmel’s defense and criticized Disney’s move. Conan O’Brien and Michael Eisner also expressed their dissent, with Eisner’s remarks emphasizing a proposed merger concerning Disney that needs FCC consent.
