Samsung’s highly awaited Project Moohan is said to be approaching its launch. The company’s alternative to Apple’s Vision Pro VR headset is anticipated to be revealed in October, alongside a hefty price point. As reported by Upload VR, preorders will kick off on Sept. 29, with a staggered global rollout: Oct. 13 in Korea, followed by an international launch on Oct. 21. Moohan was first introduced over two years ago, with its design revealed late last year, but comprehensive specifications are still scarce. Leaks indicate the headset will utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2, an upgraded version of the chip found in the Meta Quest 3 and 3S. The price is rumored to be high, with reports suggesting a range between $1,799 and $2,999, surpassing the Quest 3 ($499) but coming in lower than Apple’s $3,499 Vision Pro and Sony’s enterprise-targeted $4K+ headsets. The headset is set to feature cutting-edge display technology, including a 1.3-inch Micro-OLED panel with 3552×3840 resolution, high brightness, and a broad color spectrum, providing 13.64 million pixels per eye — nearly two million more than the Vision Pro and substantially more than the Quest 3’s 4.56 million.
