Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson star in Apple TV+’s latest mystery crime thriller, reminiscent of a dream I experienced last night.
Crafted by Slow Horses’ Morwenna Banks and inspired by Mick Herron’s novel, Down Cemetery Road showcases Thompson as Zoë Boehm, a clever private investigator confronting a case that reveals truths stretching to the highest echelons. Wilson plays Sarah Trafford, a woman obsessed with the disappearance of a young girl after an explosion at her neighbors’ residence, which leads her to seek Zoë’s assistance. As described by Apple, Zoë and Sarah “find themselves embroiled in a convoluted conspiracy that unveils individuals long thought deceased are still alive, while the living are hastily joining the ranks of the dead.”
I’m captivated!
The ensemble cast also features Adeel Akhtar, Tom Goodman-Hill, Fehinti Balogun, Darren Boyd, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Tom Riley, Adam Godley, Sinead Matthews, Ken Nwosu, and Aiysha Hart, with Natalie Bailey from Bay of Fires directing.
Down Cemetery Road debuts on Apple TV+ with two episodes on Oct. 29, continuing with new episodes each Wednesday until Dec. 10.
