Report: Samsung’s Project Moohan Headset Set to Debut Shortly

The upcoming product launch from Samsung could be on the horizon. A report from the Korean source ChosunBiz (via TechAdvisor) indicates that pre-order registrations for Samsung’s Project Moohan XR headset are set to begin on Oct. 15, with a formal launch expected on Oct. 22. TechAdvisor reports that the device may carry a price tag between $1,800 and $2,900 in the U.S., suggesting it is not a beginner-level XR device but is targeted at enthusiasts and early adopters, acting as a competitor to the Apple Vision Pro.

Leaked specifications from outlets such as Upload VR and Android Headlines imply the headset will come equipped with 1.3-inch Micro-OLED displays boasting a resolution of 3552×3840, or 13.64 million pixels per eye, exceeding the Vision Pro and significantly outperforming the Quest 3’s 4.56 million pixels.

Nevertheless, there is ambiguity surrounding a worldwide launch this month, as earlier reports indicated it may first be launched in Korea. It’s feasible that Samsung will unveil it in Korea and additional Asian territories initially, followed by a Western release later on. More details are anticipated in the upcoming weeks.

Samsung initially teased Project Moohan in January, and other reports have recommended an October unveiling. Stay tuned.
