Amazon does not have a sale independently. As it gears up for its yearly Prime Big Deal Days on Oct. 7 and 8, Best Buy is ready to present a competing “Techtober Sale” from Oct. 6 to 12.

A representative from Best Buy noted through email that the weeklong event will showcase “some of the most sought-after deals this autumn on tech items such as laptops, TVs, headphones, video games, electric bikes, and beyond.” New discounts will be introduced daily, and all offers will be accessible online, in the Best Buy app, and at physical locations.

Since 2022, Amazon has organized a two-day autumn savings event for its Prime members, with Best Buy regularly holding a simultaneous sale. This was previously known as a 48-Hour Flash Sale. Best Buy also synchronizes a discount event with Amazon’s Prime Day in July, establishing this competitive programming pattern.

Best Buy is not the sole retailer taking on Amazon this month. Walmart is conducting a “Walmart Deals” event from Oct. 7 to 12, and Target is managing a Circle Week sale from Oct. 5 to 11. Importantly, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days remains the only event necessitating a paid membership for entry.

However, only My Best Buy program paying members will gain access to the most favorable deals prior to the Techtober Sale. A distinct Member Deal Days event is currently active at Best Buy from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5 as a sneak peek.

Shoppers enrolled in My Best Buy Plus or Total memberships can take advantage of exclusive discounts and accumulate bonus rewards applicable to future purchases. These rewards will be delivered via email in approximately 15 days, meaning they won’t be usable during the Techtober Sale but are perfect for Best Buy’s Black Friday promotions. (If you haven’t yet become a paid My Best Buy member, you can receive up to $30 in bonus rewards by joining the Plus tier by Oct. 5.)
