NordicTrack Rowing Machines Pulled Back Owing to Flammable Screen Consoles

A U.S. governmental body is advising patrons to stop utilizing specific NordicTrack rowing machines. The recall impacts roughly 44,800 units, primarily distributed in the U.S.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall announcement this week, alerting customers to a fire hazard associated with certain iFit NordicTrack devices. The impacted machines come in black, grey, and white, featuring “NordicTrack” in black on the front and “RW900” in white on the rear.

The console screen on these units may become excessively hot and ignite, leading to potential injury or property damage.

“There have been eight documented occurrences, consisting of two fires, six cases of smoking or melting, and damages totaling at least $6,000. No injuries have been reported,” stated the CPSC.

For further information, the hazardous model numbers, which can be located on a sticker at the lower section of the machine, are as follows:

– NTRW19147.0
– NTRW19147.1
– NTRW19147.2
– NTRW19147.3

If you are in possession of one, the CPSC recommends unplugging it and halting use immediately. Reach out to iFIT for a certified technician to replace the screen module.

Stay safe, everyone. Your exercise shouldn’t come at the cost of a fire hazard.
