Hope you’ve bounced back from the October Prime Day promotions. On Monday, Oct. 20, Best Buy was the first significant retailer to outline its 2025 holiday strategy, declaring that it will kick off early Black Friday offers on Halloween for the first time.
“We recognize it’s early, but Halloween has been hovering around our holiday timeline for some time, and we’re prepared to welcome it into the festivities,” the company mentioned in a press release. “This year, we’re introducing the ‘creep’ in ‘holiday creep.'”
Best Buy will keep unveiling early Black Friday offers throughout November, culminating in its formal Black Friday event, which will start over a week ahead on Thursday, Nov. 20. (Black Friday 2025 is officially on Nov. 28.) The 10-day promotion will extend until Saturday, Nov. 29, showcasing “greater discounts on categories like computing, gaming, home theater, wearables, and more,” according to the company.
Following this, Best Buy will present its Cyber Monday savings event on Sunday, Nov. 30, lasting 48 hours through Dec. 1, which is the actual Cyber Monday. Shoppers can enjoy discounts of up to 50% on selected tech items during this event.
As in prior years, Best Buy will enhance its early Black Friday offers with various rounds of limited-time doorbusters featuring “some of the best deals on the hottest tech.” These will be available online, via the Best Buy app, and in stores every Friday throughout the season, commencing on Halloween. The initial set is aptly named “DoorBOOsters.”
Members of the My Best Buy program will earn up to $25 in bonus rewards on selected doorbusters.
Under its Holiday Price Match Guarantee, Best Buy will match prices for items sold earlier in the season if they drop in price later. Returns for most items bought from Oct. 31 through Dec. 31 will be accepted until Jan. 15, 2026, with an extension to Jan. 31 for My Best Buy Plus and Total members.
Best Buy will extend its store hours for the holiday season beginning Sunday, Nov. 2; please refer to your local store’s listing for additional details. Best Buy locations will remain closed on Thanksgiving, as they have since 2020.
Rival retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, and Target have not yet disclosed their own plans for Black Friday and the 2025 holiday season.
