macOS Tahoe 26.1 Beta 4 Launched: What’s Different

Apple is set to unveil a new macOS beta shortly after its initial release last week. The updated version, macOS Tahoe 26.1 Beta 4 for developers, brings several new features to discover, coinciding with the debut of the new M5-equipped MacBook Pro tomorrow.

The tech publication 9to5Mac reviewed the latest beta and noted a few modifications. The most prominent is a toggle for modifying the transparency of the new Liquid Glass design.

In addition to that, it includes the standard updates. The new beta comprises “the typical bug fixes and performance enhancements,” as reported by 9to5Mac. Apple’s developer notes highlight the rectification of a missing search bar in the Apple TV app and the resolution of background issues.

In general, there are no substantial changes. The initial beta was also relatively minor. As Mashable’s Alex Perry pointed out, there was a slight alteration to the Macintosh HD desktop icon and signs of upcoming support for third-party AI models in Image Playground.

MacOS 26 Tahoe itself, not the beta, introduced significant modifications. Most notably, it showcased the Liquid Glass design shift, dramatically changing the visual experience of Apple devices for users.
