iOS 26.1 Beta 4 Brings Two Major Enhancements to Your iPhone

Apple has unveiled a new iOS beta, bringing a major enhancement to Liquid Glass. In response to feedback from reviewers, the iOS 26.1 beta 4 delivers a resolution.

### Liquid Glass opacity options

The main highlight of iOS 26.1 beta 4 is the capability to modify Liquid Glass. iOS 26 introduced Liquid Glass, showcasing numerous transparent UI elements. While some users appreciate its clear aesthetics, others prefer the previous, less see-through design.

In iOS 26.1 beta 4, users can head to Settings, then Display & Brightness, and select the Liquid Glass setting to opt for a new “Tinted” option. This alters the opacity of notification windows and various features, rendering them less transparent and more comfortable for some users. It serves as the nearest alternative to entirely deactivating Liquid Glass.

Previously, Liquid Glass settings were accessible within Accessibility options, but this update presents a more user-friendly adjustment for everyone.

### Disable Lock Screen Swipe for Camera

If you’ve ever unintentionally launched the Camera app on your locked iPhone, there is now a fix.

At present, swiping right-to-left on a locked iPhone screen activates the Camera app without requiring device unlock. With iOS 26.1 beta 4, users can turn off this functionality. Navigate to Camera settings in the Settings app to switch off “Lock Screen Swipe to Open Camera.”
