If you’ve recently posted a Story on Instagram, you may have encountered Restyle, a new AI tool that allows users to modify photos right within Stories.

Restyle gives you the capability to eliminate unwanted background items, introduce new elements, or personalize aspects of your image, like changing someone’s hair color or altering the sky.

Instagram is currently testing Restyle Text while launching an updated suite of Restyle tools, with Mashable offering an exclusive sneak peek. This suite features Restyle Text, Restyle Video, and improved effect discovery, giving users additional choices for editing their Stories.

You can find all the new Restyle tools by capturing a photo or video in Stories and selecting the paintbrush icon. This will bring up options to add, delete, modify, or apply themes.

There are also special seasonal themes and effects, including Halloween options like “ghost face” and “haunted mirror,” Diwali presets such as “fireworks” and “diyas,” as well as year-round favorites like “anime” and “sketch.” These can be explored or searched in the new effects browser.

Restyle Text, another fresh tool launching Thursday, uses AI to generate custom fonts for Stories. You can pick from presets like “chrome” and “balloon,” or create your own prompt, such as “Give all of my letters little hats.”

Lastly, Restyle Video brings AI-driven filters to moving clips, with preset effects such as “snow,” “underwater,” “porcelain,” and “golden hour.”

Restyle Text is presently undergoing testing with a limited group of users and will soon roll out worldwide. The other new Restyle features are being introduced across the U.S., India, Pakistan, South Africa, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Australia, Ghana, Uganda, Singapore, Zambia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Malawi, and Canada.
