What does Connections: Sports Edition entail?

The NYT‘s newest daily word challenge has debuted in partnership with The Athletic, the New York Times entity that covers sports. Connections is accessible via web browsers and on mobile devices, asking participants to categorize four words that share a commonality.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words organized into four categories. These groups can encompass anything from literary titles to software names or countries. While several words might appear to fit together, only one is the correct combination.

If a player correctly spots all four words within a category, those words disappear from the board. An incorrect guess is marked as an error — players may make up to four errors before the game concludes.

Participants have the ability to rearrange and shuffle the board to identify connections with greater ease. Each group is designated a color code, where yellow is the simplest, succeeded by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your outcomes with friends on social media.
