What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The NYT‘s newest daily word game, in partnership with The Athletic, the sports coverage branch of the New York Times, has been released. Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices, demanding players to categorize four words that share a common connection.

Each puzzle features 16 words, separated into four categories. These categories can include anything such as book titles, software, or country names. While several words may appear to fit together, there exists only one correct combination.
When a player successfully identifies all four words in a category, those words are cleared from the board. Wrong guesses are counted as errors — players are allowed up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players may also rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate the discovery of connections. Furthermore, each grouping is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, results can be shared with friends on social media.
