Apple has teamed up with Issey Miyake to unveil the iPhone Pocket, a 3D-knitted, flexible bag designed for your iPhone and other small belongings. Issey Miyake, renowned for its luxurious, often stretchy, avant-garde apparel, was established by the late Japanese designer who also crafted Steve Jobs’ signature black turtleneck. In a press release, Apple mentioned that the iPhone Pocket boasts “the characteristics of the original pleats by Issey Miyake,” as the designer is well-known for pleated textiles. The material is incredibly stretchy, enabling users to glimpse their iPhone screen without taking it out of the Pocket.
The iPhone Pocket can be worn in multiple styles, including as a handbag, slung across the body, or attached to a larger bag. It is offered in two variations: a short strap in eight color options and a long strap in three color choices. There are inquiries regarding its making and pricing. Although it resembles a stretchy sock with a cut-out, the ribbed design and fabric quality surpass those of a standard sock. However, the cost is high: $149.95 for the short strap version and $229.95 for the long strap version. The iPhone Pocket will launch on Friday, Nov. 24, at Apple Store locations and on Apple.com in France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the U.S.
