Nintendo Direct: Trailer and Cast for Super Mario Galaxy Movie Unveiled

Nintendo conducted a short Nintendo Direct livestream on Wednesday. It did not unveil any fresh game trailers for Switch 2; rather, it concentrated on the forthcoming film, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. This follow-up to the successful 2023 release, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, takes Mario and his companions into outer space, echoing the 2007 title Super Mario Galaxy. The trailer provides a sneak peek of the film, closely mirroring the game.

Moreover, Nintendo revealed two new cast additions. Brie Larson, an Academy Award-winning actress and fan of Nintendo games, will portray Princess Rosalina, the guardian of the galaxy. On a more humorous note, Benny Safdie, co-director of Uncut Gems, will lend his voice to Bowser Jr., the primary antagonist. Safdie, also an actor, was recently seen in Oppenheimer, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret., and Happy Gilmore 2.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3.
