What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The NYT‘s newest daily word game, in collaboration with The Athletic, the New York Times’ sports journalism branch, is now accessible. Connections can be played on web platforms and mobile devices, requiring participants to categorize four words sharing a commonality.

Each puzzle comprises 16 words categorized into four groups. These categories can range from book titles to software names or countries. Although numerous words may appear to align, there is a singular correct combination.
If a player correctly locates all four words in a group, those words will be cleared from the board. An incorrect attempt is considered a mistake — players can make up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players are able to rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate finding connections. Each grouping is color-coded, with yellow indicating the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Much like Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
