As smart home devices increasingly become a part of U.S. residences, possessing the top smart home hub is crucial for optimal functionality. Smart assistants act as the main hub for a smart home, linking to multiple devices to facilitate routines, voice commands, and additional features for effortless device management.

We conducted a survey among our readers to discover which smart home devices they utilize in our Readers’ Choice Smartest Home survey. Google was clearly the top choice among smart assistants.

Our readers who utilize Google Assistant acknowledged its dependability, highlighting its effectiveness for cooking, responding to inquiries, and managing smart home features like activating the lights.

One participant remarked, “Our entire home is equipped with Google displays, speakers, TVs integrated with Google TV, and third-party plugs, bulbs, and similar devices. Recently, I upgraded to a Google mesh router. The third-party gadgets can sometimes pose some setup challenges, but once everything is operational, it’s great to manage everything directly through the Google Home app.”

Others referred to Google Assistant as “fantastic” and articulated being “overall very content.” In terms of likelihood to recommend, Google Assistant achieved a score of 8.2 out of 10.
