What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game, which launched in collaboration with The Athletic, the sports coverage unit of the New York Times, is available on web browsers and mobile devices. Participants are required to group four words based on a shared trait.

Every puzzle consists of 16 words separated into four categories. These groups might contain book titles, software names, country titles, and more. Although many words might appear to connect, only one correct answer is available.

If a participant identifies all four words in a group correctly, those words are eliminated from the board. Wrong guesses are considered mistakes — players can make up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to discover connections more easily. Each group is color-coded: yellow represents the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share outcomes with friends on social platforms.
