During her appearance on The Tonight Show, the Wicked: For Good star revealed to Jimmy Fallon that the incident took place after she misplaced a beloved hat at the Wicked premiere in London last year. In 2025, a fan in an autograph line in Paris mentioned that she had the hat at her home.

“I asked her, ‘Can I have it back?’ She responded, ‘I don’t have it with me; it’s at my house,'” Erivo recounted. “I inquired, ‘When can we retrieve it?’ She asked for tickets to the premiere. ‘Okay. Take them.’ And she returned the hat, reuniting us.”
