It’s a thrilling moment for Critical Role enthusiasts. The fourth campaign is in progress, and their second animated series, *The Mighty Nein*, has just premiered on Prime Video.
But there’s additional *The Mighty Nein* content on the way! This Sunday, Nov. 23, WEBTOON will unveil Critical Role and Dark Horse’s *The Mighty Nein Origins* graphic novels as a vertical scroll comic, and Mashable has an exclusive sneak peek.
This prequel series delves into the pasts of the misfits who will evolve into the legendary Mighty Nein. From Caleb Widogast’s challenging experiences at the Soltryce Academy to Mollymauk Tealeaf’s first excursion to the Fletching and Moondrop Traveling Carnival of Curiosities, every narrative is filled with depth.
The inaugural WEBTOON tale highlights the cherished blue chaos agent, Jester Lavorre. As the offspring of the famous courtesan the Ruby of the Sea, Jester’s upbringing is anything but ordinary. Her life shifts dramatically when she encounters the Traveler, a trickster deity who energizes her playful spirit. Spanning Jester’s childhood in Nicodranas to her first meeting with the Traveler, *The Mighty Nein Origins: Jester Lavorre* unveils the escapades and experiences that guide Jester to the Mighty Nein.
Below, catch your initial look at *The Mighty Nein Origins* in vertical scrolling format on WEBTOON.
The first three installments of *The Mighty Nein Origins* will be accessible on WEBTOON Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. ET. Five additional episodes will be available via Fast Pass, with updates every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. Following Jester’s storyline, the series will adhere to the original graphic novels’ release timeline, with Caleb’s narrative next, succeeded by Yasha’s.
The webcomic launch of *The Mighty Nein Origins* is part of a partnership between Dark Horse and WEBTOON. Earlier in 2025, they collaborated to introduce other Dark Horse titles such as *The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, Plants vs. Zombies*, and *The Legend of Korra* to WEBTOON.
*Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins* premieres Nov. 23 on WEBTOON.
