What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The NYT‘s newest daily word game has been launched in partnership with The Athletic, the sports journalism arm of the New York Times. Connections can be accessed on web browsers and mobile devices, asking players to group four words that share a commonality.

Every puzzle consists of 16 words separated into four categories. These groups might include anything from titles of books to software or names of countries. While several words may appear to fit together, only one combination is correct.
When a player successfully selects all four words from a category, those words are eliminated from the board. Any incorrect guess counts as a mistake — players can make up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players have the option to reorganize and shuffle the board to facilitate the discovery of connections. Each group is color-coded with yellow as the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results with friends via social media.
