Keke Palmer Welcomes Detective Character in The Burbs Teaser

Keke Palmer may be facing a potential murder in the preview for Peacock’s The ‘Burbs. This forthcoming mystery comedy draws inspiration from the 1989 film starring Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, and Carrie Fisher, where suburban residents investigate their dubious neighbors who could be linked to ritualistic sacrifices.

In Peacock’s iteration of The ‘Burbs, crafted by Celeste Hughey and produced by Seth MacFarlane, Palmer and Jack Whitehall play a young couple returning to the husband’s childhood residence. Palmer’s character becomes intrigued by a house that has remained unoccupied for two decades. In the teaser, she learns from her neighbors that the previous owners’ daughter passed away in the house, introducing a tragic enigma to her new community.

Nevertheless, the house isn’t set to stay empty for long. The series synopsis indicates that Palmer and Whitehall’s characters’ “lives are turned upside down when new neighbors arrive next door, unveiling old secrets of the cul-de-sac, while new lethal threats disrupt the facade of their serene little neighborhood.”

Catch the complete teaser to witness Palmer tap into her inner Only Murders in the Cul-de-sac, featuring Doechii’s popular track “Anxiety.”

The ‘Burbs also stars Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, and Kapil Talwalkar. The ‘Burbs premieres on Peacock on Feb. 8.
