LG TVs Enable Users to Eliminate Unwanted Copilot Shortcuts

Several owners of LG smart TVs were taken aback this month to discover unexpected shortcuts for Microsoft Copilot appearing on their devices. These shortcuts could not be deleted, only concealed, resulting in the Microsoft Copilot app remaining installed. Now, Engadget states that LG will permit users to eliminate the shortcut icon if they wish. The Copilot shortcut was meant to open in the web browser on LG TVs, rather than function as a native app. Nevertheless, adding a Microsoft Copilot shortcut to the TV’s shortcut bar is arguably a misguided choice. Pre-installed applications that cannot be uninstalled are frequently unwanted. It is unclear when LG will provide users the ability to remove Copilot, but it is anticipated to occur with a future software update.
