Conan O’Brien Pans AI and Timothée Chalamet in Oscars Monologue

Following an exhilarating pursuit to the Dolby Theater, Oscars host Conan O’Brien arrived on stage to present a monologue that wittily tackled some of Hollywood’s most talked-about issues, including AI.

“I feel privileged to be the final human host of the Academy Awards,” O’Brien stated. “Next year, it will be a Waymo in formal wear.”

He also remarked on Timothée Chalamet’s popular comments regarding opera and ballet, humorously referring to heightened security due to “worries about assaults from both the opera and ballet factions.”

O’Brien addressed political turbulence, expressing, “Everyone tuning in from all corners of the globe is acutely aware that these are incredibly tumultuous, alarming times. In moments like this, I think the Oscars hold particular significance. This evening, thirty-one countries across six continents are showcased, and every film we honor is the culmination of thousands of individuals speaking various languages, striving to create something beautiful. Tonight, we celebrate not only film but also the principles of global creativity, teamwork, patience, resilience, and that rare attribute today, optimism.”

The monologue concluded on a comedic note with O’Brien acting out what it might resemble if he secured an Oscar, featuring the Pope, Josh Groban, and a falcon delivering his award.
