“Looksmaxxing” influencer Clavicular was recently contacted by three trans women, igniting a discussion about whether incels or trans women started the fervent beauty movement.
In a viral clip from a recent Kick stream, Clavicular was dining at a Florida eatery when his friend, Andrew Morales, known as the “Cuban Tarzan,” spotted three attractive women and pointed the camera toward them to showcase the “gooners.”
The trio soon approached Clavicular’s table, with one asking, “Why am I mogging you right now?” Mogging signifies surpassing someone’s beauty.
“I’m dragqueenmaxxing right now, no shade,” the unnamed woman added.
The three women then disclosed to Clavicular, also recognized as 20-year-old Braden Peters, that they were trans. Clavicular reacted by asking about the women’s anatomy.
The dialogue shifted when the woman who first approached the table remarked to Clavicular, “You know that trans women are the OG looksmaxxers?”
Clavicular seemed to acknowledge the contribution of trans women to the beauty movement, which encompasses extreme skin, hair, fitness, and nutrition routines, along with the use of steroids, hormones, and even surgical procedures like bonesmashing. The woman who initially approached added, “I do the peptides, I’m on reta.”
Clavicular recognized that trans women on Reddit had been utilizing looksmaxxing terminology back in the early 2020s.
However, when one of the women stated, “You’re like copying us,” Clavicular hesitated, shaking his head.
The women then requested Clavicular to assess their looks, but he appeared disinterested in prolonging the conversation and declined. While Clavicular exhibited his usual indifference and superiority toward the women, he did not demean them. Morales, however, displayed transphobic sentiments by repeatedly apologizing for finding the women appealing before realizing they were trans.
Clavicular’s political stance is not entirely transparent, although he has conducted interviews and collaborated with right-wing influencers, manosphere figures, and white supremacists. He has also previously conveyed vaguely transphobic viewpoints, according to Them.
Regarding which community first adopted looksmaxxing, it is broadly acknowledged that the incel community of the early 2020s was the original to coin the term and structure much of their identities around enhancing their appearance.
Trans women, naturally, have been around since the notion of “transgender” was recognized and have a rich history of transforming their appearance to not only be more beautiful and empowered but also to better align with their gender identity.
