We recognize that businesses must be cautious when introducing new AI-powered features, yet Spotify is undoubtedly taking its time with AI DJ.
Spotify initially launched the feature in 2023. It utilizes AI technology alongside your personal music listening history to create a mixtape, enriched with human-like voice commentary, resembling the experience of listening to a real radio station.
The problem is, Spotify first introduced AI DJ in the U.S. and Canada, slowly extending to additional markets, but numerous significant markets in Europe were omitted — until now.
On Thursday, Spotify revealed the rollout of AI DJ to six European nations: Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland, in addition to Brazil and South Korea. The company also included four new language options for the AI DJ: French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese.
According to the company, Spotify’s AI DJ is now accessible in over 75 global markets.
To experience it, find the DJ on your Spotify homepage, or search for “DJ.” You can request by voice or text by tapping the DJ button; to switch languages, tap on the three-dot menu and select your desired language.
Spotify mentioned that the feature is still in beta, and you will need the latest version of the app to access all its functionalities.
