What is Connections: Sports Edition?
The NYT‘s most recent daily word game is in partnership with The Athletic, the New York Times platform for sports journalism. The sports Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices, requiring participants to group four words that have something in common.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words, divided into four categories. These groups might include book titles, software, country names, etc. Although several words may appear to fit together, there is only one accurate response.
If a participant guesses all four words in a set correctly, those words are eliminated from the board. Guess incorrectly, and it counts as a mistake — players have up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players can reorganize and shuffle the board to facilitate spotting connections. Each grouping is color-coded: yellow is the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share the outcomes with friends on social media.
