OpenAI has continued its series of announcements by making its **Canvas** tool fully accessible to its users.
Just a day after launching its AI video creator, **Sora**, OpenAI disclosed that Canvas has officially transitioned out of its beta phase. The tool now incorporates the capability to execute Python code directly within a Canvas document and is also available for custom GPTs, enhancing its functionality.
Initially rolled out in October, Canvas functions as a multifunctional editing tool tailored for both writing and coding activities. It features a notebook-style interface that complements ChatGPT, allowing users to enhance responses and “collaborate” with the AI. A significant new feature is the ability to obtain feedback and suggested revisions as comments, enabling users to adjust their work based on ChatGPT’s input.
OpenAI has also launched improvements for programming workflows. When users paste code into ChatGPT, the platform can now automatically recognize it and switch to a code editor mode. This functionality aids in debugging and identifies errors more effectively. Moreover, users can run code directly within the interface to test and troubleshoot it in real time.
