You can now converse with podcast hosts powered by Google’s AI.

You can now engage with **Google’s AI hosts**, which have the ability to convert your meeting notes into a podcast-like format.

Launched in October, Google’s AI-driven tool, **NotebookLM**, rolled out its **Audio Overview** feature. This groundbreaking tool aggregates various types of source materials—like meeting notes, journal entries, or legal documents—and simplifies them into a podcast-style presentation. In this setup, two AI hosts discuss the essential points, enhancing information retention. This feature is especially beneficial for individuals who learn better through audio or are too occupied to read.

Users can now elevate this experience by posing questions to the AI hosts if they seek clarification or further information. In a recent [blog entry](https://blog.google/technology/google-labs/notebooklm-new-features-december-2024/), Google detailed the new capability:

> “In the past three months, users have produced over 350 years’ worth of [Audio Overviews](https://blog.google/technology/ai/notebooklm-audio-overviews/). Today, we are beginning to introduce the ability to ‘join’ the conversation. By using your voice, you can request the hosts to provide more information or to clarify a concept in a different way. It’s akin to having a personal tutor or guide who listens carefully and then directly responds, leveraging the knowledge contained in your sources.”

However, Google did warn that this feature remains in its initial phase. The AI hosts might occasionally have awkward pauses before answering and could sometimes present inaccuracies—an issue not unusual with AI technologies.

To explore this new feature, look for the **”Interactive mode (BETA)”** button when initiating a new audio interview.
