It’s Christmas Eve, and Santa Claus has set off on his annual journey around the world — and you can monitor his progress in real-time!
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has activated its yearly Santa tracker, a beloved tradition since 1955. Initially beginning as a hotline for kids to call for updates on Santa’s whereabouts, NORAD Tracks Santa has transformed into a digital platform that allows you to witness exactly where the Jolly Old Elf is as he distributes gifts globally.
While the hotline remains operational, you can also visit [noradsanta.org](http://noradsanta.org) to follow Santa’s journey live.
The site showcases a 3D satellite map illustrating Santa and his reindeer in motion, complete with statistics on gifts delivered (over 1.7 billion and still counting at the moment) and Santa’s estimated arrival time at his next stop, along with information about his latest destination. You can even toggle to a 2D map and click on icons along his path to discover more about the places he’s visiting.
Santa commenced his journey at the North Pole and has already traveled to the South Pacific. He’s now making his way towards Southeast Asia, with numerous stops still ahead before the night concludes.
As always, Santa has a lengthy night of travel in front of him, so remember to set out some milk and cookies for him and carrots for his diligent reindeer as he approaches your area.
Happy tracking, and Merry Christmas!
